Our guide goes beyond the usual scope, unveiling the captivating magic of Clifton Hill, and showcasing why every visitor to Niagara Falls should add it to their must-visit list.
What to do?
Here is my favourite short list of the top 5 place to visit when I’m at Clifton Hill.
1. Niagara Speedway
There’s a rumour that when construction began on this track, it was originally going to be named Mario Kart Speedway. While the validity of that story is uncertain, while it does vaguely give off the look and feel of a Mario Kart track, I can say from my numerous races here—easily 10 or 15 visits—that I’ve yet to spot Bowser. The track itself is fantastic, boasting robust safety protocols that really stand out. For instance, I once witnessed a kart spin out and face backward; almost instantly, all the karts, including mine, were remotely brought to a halt. It’s an impressive safety feature that ensures everyone’s security during the thrill of the race.

2. Great Canadian Midway
Number two on my list of top spots is an absolute must-visit, especially if you have kids—the Great Canadian Midway, arguably the greatest arcade ever. My own experience was thrilling, as I once racked up thousands of tickets, which can be redeemed for a wide array of prizes. The games here are not only fun but also generous with tickets, making the prizes surprisingly attainable. One of my favorite aspects of this venue is its spacious, open entrance which maintains a comfortable temperature, adding to the overall pleasant atmosphere.
An Nostalgic Game
Here’s a fun tidbit: back in the 1980s, my parents first took me to Clifton Hill where I discovered a street-side, Western-themed electronic shooting gallery game. If that rings a bell for you, you’ll be delighted to know that this very game can now be found at the back of this arcade.

3. Ripley’s Believe it or Not
I have visited Ripley’s in St. Augustine, Florida, and as a Canadian, I’ve frequented the one in Niagara Falls numerous times. Without a doubt, my favourite is the Niagara Falls location. Not only is it striking from the outside, but the interior is equally impressive and never fails to amaze.
Be sure to check your tongue in the mirror, you won’t regret it!

4. Ripley’s Selfie Studios
Yes, you read correctly—a selfie studio. Located across from Believe It or Not on Clifton Hill, this venue is a top-tier entertainment spot. I was initially skeptical, but I left thoroughly impressed.
The selfie studio boasts excellent lighting and vibrant colours. One of the standout features is the ability to quickly mock up images. It provided fantastic entertainment for the kids, who had a blast taking whimsical photos and thoroughly enjoying themselves.

5. Louis Tussard’s Waxworks
Speaking of selfies, after you’ve warmed up at Ripley’s Selfie Studio, make your way to Louis Tussaud’s Waxworks. There, you’ll find incredible opportunities to take selfies with wax figures of world-famous personalities.
Some figures are so lifelike that friends of mine have shared photos online, prompting others to ask, “Where did you meet so-and-so?” It’s always a lot of fun and makes for some memorable moments.

These are just five of my personal favourite places in and around Clifton Hill. While I hold these spots in high regard, there are many others I could mention. this is merely the beginning of the family fun to be had on Clifton Hill.
In fact, I’m considering writing a post detailing my top 35 favorite places in the Niagara Falls area. Stay tuned as this might just be an upcoming treat for those interested in exploring more of what this vibrant area has to offer.
