Day 12 of My Route 66 Arizona Adventure: A Relaxing Break in Kingman
Good afternoon, everyone! Today marked the twelfth day of my Route 66 journey. I’ve spent a few days in Arizona and today is my last day so I decided to take it easy with a laid-back day in the charming town of Kingman, Arizona.

Exploring Kingman in the Morning
I started the day by exploring Kingman, a town that holds a unique place on Route 66. The morning air was pleasantly cool, offering a refreshing break from the increasingly warm days I’ve experienced on this trip. I spent the morning wandering around, taking in the sights, and snapping some photos. Kingman has a lot of historical charm, and its quiet streets and friendly locals made for a peaceful and enjoyable morning.
Kingman is a fantastic place to stay during a Route 66 road trip, offering great food, reasonable prices, and exceptional service all around. The town boasts a variety of dining options, from classic American diners to unique local eateries, ensuring that every meal is a delight.
Whether you’re craving a hearty breakfast to start your day or a satisfying dinner after a day of exploration, Kingman’s culinary scene won’t disappoint. Additionally, the town is known for its affordable accommodations, making it an ideal stop for budget-conscious travelers. The local businesses provide excellent service for motor vehicles, with numerous garages and service stations ready to assist with any car troubles or routine maintenance needs.
This combination of great food, friendly service, and convenient amenities makes Kingman a perfect base for anyone traveling the iconic Route 66.
Relaxation by the Pool and Hot Tub
After my morning exploration, I headed back to my accommodation to relax. Sometimes, the best part of a trip is the time spent unwinding, and today was one of those days. I spent the afternoon lounging by the pool, soaking up the sun, and cooling off with a dip in the water. The gentle sound of the water and the warmth of the sun were incredibly soothing.
Later, I made my way to the hot tub. The warm, bubbling water was perfect for easing any travel fatigue. I sat back, closed my eyes, and let the relaxation wash over me. It was the perfect way to recharge my energy for the next leg of my journey.
Planning the Next Few Days
With the evening approaching, I took some time to plan out the next couple of days of travel. Tomorrow, I’ll be heading to Barstow, California, but not before making a stop in Oakland, Arizona. This small town has a unique character, and I’m excited to share more about it with you all tomorrow.

A Quiet Evening with Hockey
To cap off my relaxing day, I decided to take it easy tonight and watch the Stanley Cup Final hockey game. There’s something comforting about settling down with a good game after a day of exploration and relaxation.
Looking Forward to Tomorrow
As the day winds down, I’m grateful for this break in Kingman. It’s been a wonderful opportunity to relax and recharge. Tomorrow promises more adventures as I continue my journey along Route 66. I’ll be sure to share all the interesting details about Oakland, Arizona, and my travels to Barstow.
Thank you all for following along on my Route 66 adventure. Have a nice night, and I’ll see you tomorrow with more stories from the road!
