Travel Journal: A Day of Unexpected Repairs

Today wasn’t the most exciting day, as I found myself in Kingman at the Ford dealership. My AC compressor needed repair, and unfortunately, the part had to be ordered in. It didn’t arrive until 10 o’clock this morning, and I wasn’t back on the road until 2:30 PM, heading towards Flagstaff. Due to this unexpected breakdown, there isn’t much to report today. But as any traveler knows, these things happen, and you just have to roll with it and stay positive.

I arrived back in Flagstaff around 5 PM local time and checked into my hotel, conveniently located right on Route 66. Tomorrow, I’ll be back on schedule, heading to Kingman with planned stops in Williams and Seligman to explore the Route 66 attractions.

A Convenient Stay in Flagstaff

As it turned out, having my hotel booked in Flagstaff proved to be incredibly convenient. Despite the unexpected delay with my truck’s AC compressor repair in Kingman, knowing I had a comfortable place to stay in Flagstaff provided a much-needed sense of relief.

Originally, today was supposed to be spent exploring the stunning Monument Valley. I had been eagerly looking forward to witnessing its iconic red rock formations and sweeping vistas. However, sometimes plans change, and the day was instead dedicated to getting my truck back in working order.

While I didn’t get to see Monument Valley this time, I’ve learned to embrace the unpredictable nature of travel. The great thing about adventures is that there’s always another chance. Monument Valley isn’t going anywhere, and it will still be there waiting for me on another trip.

So, while today didn’t go as planned, I’m grateful for the convenience of my Flagstaff hotel and the peace of mind it provided. Monument Valley remains on my list, and I look forward to experiencing its beauty in the future. For now, I’ll rest up and get ready for tomorrow’s adventures on Route 66.
